First Baptist Church, through the leadership of our Mission Council, provides many opportunities to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ in our community, state, nation, and around the world. Below are some of our many mission experiences.
Join FBCMHC and Head to the Hills August 11-17. We have an opportunity to minister to the needy in Jefferson City TN, through food pantry volunteering, light construction, and personal interaction with those we will be serving.
Register today if you plan to attend the intertest meeting on March 24th after the 11am worship service in the Conference room.
Disaster Relief
Our Baptist on Mission are active both locally and nationally when disaster strikes. Our disaster recovery trailer is one tool that we utilize on a regular basis to help meet the needs of those in crisis and to share the love of Christ in a hands-on way. Whether it is a neighbor who needs a fallen tree cut up and removed, or a national tragedy such as the flooding experienced due to hurricanes, our Baptist on Mission are ready and active, cooperating with other churches throughout the state and beyond to do Kingdom work.
Operation Christmas Child
We partner each year with Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child by providing shoe boxes filled with love for hurting boys and girls throughout the world. Click here to build a shoebox online!
Appalachian Christmas Outreach
The Appalachian Coalfields Ministry, sponsored by the NC Baptist Men, seeks to help meet the physical and spiritual needs of people living in the Appalachian area. One of the greatest ministry needs in this area occurs at Christmastime. First Baptist partners with the NC Baptist in providing backpacks filled with food, clothing, toys, games, etc. that are distributed to children in Appalachian coalfield area. We also will have a mission team that will go to West Virginia in December to help distribute the backpacks.
